How do I apply eyeliner properly and how do I know what colour to use?

???How do I apply eyeliner properly and how do I know what colour to use?
Black eye-liner is a good option, but if you have a blue eye-shadow, you can use blue eye-liner, so that mistakes are invisible. ;)

The same with every colour, but you can pick one in base of your eye colour. I love grey and mauve eye shadows on blue eyes! And so does for green ones. Mauve is a colour that fits with almost everything.

Now, if your eyes are small, you must circle your eyes, but not in the place where they are ';connected';. This will make them look bigger. Also, dark eye-shadows make eyes look smaller and light ones bigger.

If your eyes are big, you should circle them as well. All eye. This balances the size.

What is more, if you are not so familiar with eye-liner, you can apply it only downside. You really don't need to circle it in this case! ;)

Hope this is useful and good luck!;)How do I apply eyeliner properly and how do I know what colour to use?
Black eyeliner always a good choice, You line the bottom inner lid, that the flat part close to your eye.....
You really need to go by your eye color and shape of eye when buying color and applying. If you are a beginner, I would suggest a light brown color and I would only apply a little bit underneath your eye. When applying it underneath your eye, start at the outer corner. When starting at the outer corner work your way in and don't apply it real thick...go thin, you can always make it thicker later if you don't like. I would also make sure that your pencil is not to sharp...sometimes if your pencil is to sharp it pokes your tissue and irritates it! Hope this helps.
Go to the marykay.com web page. There are all sorts of tips for working with color cosmetics. You can even locate a consultant who will go to your house to help you learn how to make yourself look your very best.
I would recommend going to a department store and asking when they are offering free make-overs.

There are several types of eyeliners and a big different between the different brands of pencil eye-liners.

Depending on your skin colour and hair and eye colour one may be better than another.

As I said, go to different department stores and get free makeovers. Go home and take a picture then compare them all together. You will see one that looks more ';you'; and you are more comfortable with.

Eye liner is great when done right and awful when done wrong. Get some professional advice then practice, practice, practice!
well first you need to kno what color your skin is. if its light try to get a lighter color than black. 2: you need to decide where you want to put it (on your eye lid, under your eyel, or you can do both and make wings.) if you have lighter skin it looks better if you put it on top of ur eyelid. and if you have darker skin then under your eye is good. i hope i helped you and made u look better lol! ttyl.
For eyeliner, it depends on what look you're going for or what you think looks best on you.

For almost any skin tone I sugguest black because it's more visible and has the ability to make your eyes ';pop'; better. Brown or dark brown is best for darker skin tones like deep tan or darker brown.

Anyway, for liquid eyeliner, it's always better to use on the top lid only. I suggest Revlon Colorstay, it's my favorite brand to use because the color stays and doesn't fade. Here's a pic: http://www.buymebeauty.com/ProductImages鈥?/a>

What you do is...

-Stretch your top lid using your index finger to pull the outer corner of your eye. This will help the eyelid straighten so applying the eyeliner will be easier

-Next, starting from your inner corner of your eye (corner closest to your nose) take the liquid eyeliner point and trace the lid along the eyelash line straight across to the outer corner of your eye. If you want you can make the outer corner curve up for a dramatic look

Now for bottom lid, I suggest a eyeliner pencil. Again, I reccomend Revlon Colorstay. Here's a pic: http://images.search.yahoo.com/search/im鈥?/a>

What you basically do for the bottom lid is just trace along the eyelash line or trace inside the lid it's up to you. It's much simpler than the liquid eyeliner.

You can use the pencil for both lids but I prefer to use seperate eyeliners. Unless you wanna smudge your top lid for the ';smokey'; eye look, I would stay stick to liquid for top and pencil for bottom
Not everyone needs eyeliner.. so evaluate if your one of those people.

If you need eyeliner.. than less is best. White eyeline is great for making your eyes look bigger.. (you only apply it to the bottom)

As for your top eyelid, .. don't do black.. it's too harsh and to 80's. Go for a brown eye liner.. which goes for any eye color..

a lot depends on your eye color... and what shadow color your wearing..

brown shadow : black eyeliner (if blended right),

brown eyeliner

Green shadow: Green eyeliner

Brown eyeliner

Blue shadow: Blue eyeliner

Black eyeliner (blended correctly)

Rosey shadow: Brown eyeliner

Coral shadow: Brown eyeliner

Silver/Gold shadow: eyeliner that is closes to your eyelashes w/ mascara on.

And as for what colors you should wear..

i find brown eyes look great in the rosey shadows, the violets, the greens are gorgeous with brown eyes, neturals like golds and silvers are pretty too.

Blue eyes.. light browns, corals, rosey, and neutrals look best.

Green eyes.. look great in light browns, and violets, and neturals

Hazel Green: Beautiful in Browns and Greens especially... as well as neutrals.. gold especially in that regard.

Blue eye shadow looks okay on some brown eye girls.. but it seems to make blue eyes not as obvious... and brown eyes look flat.. blue shadow really isn't that great for anyone..
whatever color mascara u use just a shade lighter...browns look nat but black looks dramatic and colors show personality
It's up to you girlfriend
well, umm.. it really depends what youre comfrotable with. i usually put a line above the eyelashes on my eyelid and thats it. i like to use black with a silver glitter over it. you might also like a brown, or if you want it to stand out more, a bright color. you really dont need too much either, as long as you use a nice eye shadow and definitley some mascara. just be careful if youre putting it near your eye because if you poke yourself in the eye it doesnt feel to good!! lol.. ohh and also, dont think that you cant get a good eyeliner cheap. you dont need to go to likee. sephora or a big make up store for it. you can get a cheap really nice one at walgreens, cvs, brookes, target, walmart, or even the grocery storee!! good luck. =D
well, i would not recomend black eyeliner, unless you are going out at night.

i love colors, like dark green, dark blue, bronze, grey.

you don't have to be classic with color!

now, i use eyeliner right by both of my lashlines. most days i use eyeliner on my botom lid, smudged right into the lash line.

make sure you feel great!

you can practice too. it is fun to experiment!
eyeliner is my fave type of makeup --- u look instantly glam

i use black but if u think its too harsh go for brown---u cud experiment with colors like green purple blue whatever....

ppl with big eyes can get away with eyeliner up and down , if u got small eyes then top i think shud be gud enuff otherwise ur eyes will look 2 small but I've seen ppl with small eyes pull it off.

a nice trick is to use white eyeliner on the bottom lids inside to look like they are bigger--- i dont know if it works ---lol

i also like black eyeliner against shimmery shadow nice for a nite out....

also u cud either go for pencil(easy)powder(messy)or liquid(hard)......
yeah just go to this site it helped me

:D
if you are a

- brunette, black would be a good colour to use

- blonde, brown would be more natural but black brings out the eyes more

now girls tend to also use blue or green eyeliner!

you can put it wherever you think looks the best on you to be honest. i used to put it only on the bottom then both the top and bottom, now only the top! so it really depends on what how you like it. try it out!

usually more eyeliner is applied on the outer corners of the eye. try and apply as close to the eyelash line as possible!
