How in the world do you successfully apply liquid eyeliner?

To successfully apply liquid eyeliner...

1. Slightly tilt your head back to where you can fully see your eyelids in a mirror.

2. Steadily, with the eyeliner stick in hand, start at the outside corner of your eye and slowly draw a line along the rim of your eyelashes and stop at the middle. (I find stopping at the middle easier than going all the way across so that you can rest your hand and resteady yourself.) DO NOT CLOSE YOUR EYES OR THE LIQUID LINER WILL SMUDGE!!!

3. Wait about 30 seconds to a minute for the liner to dry.

4. Now, starting at the inner corner of your eyelid, trace along your lash rims and stop when you join the other line that you previously made.

5. Once again, DO NOT CLOSE YOUR EYES OR THE LIQUID LINER WILL SMUDGE!!!

6. You did it!

READ THIS BEFORE APPLYING YOUR LINER:

If you're right handed, I suggest you start at the inner corner of your eye when doing your right eye, and starting at the outside corner of your eye when doing your left eye.

hmmm very carefully!! just kidding..i have not been so lucky with it..sorry i am no help.. but i think you have to be very steady with your hand..How in the world do you successfully apply liquid eyeliner?
Gently wipe off the wand with a tissue to remove excess before applying. Apply as close to eyelashes as possible. Use a q-tip dipped in eyemakeup removed to thin lines that are too thick. Don't use black!!! Use a soft brown, etc.
Liquid eyeliner needs ALOT of practice to apply right, cuz you can only put it on ONCE, and then you can't really fix it.

Personally I use a soft black pencil eyeliner, it's much easier. I can't stand bothering with the liquid stuff....it just doesn't work out. I actually think that liquid only really works if you have someone else do i for you, and even then it probly needs to be a professional because it's just so difficult.
take a piece of paper and hold it to ur eylid to where it leaves however much room u want for the eyeliner then do it to the other sid eother then that i mean i gues just dont mess up!! lol j/k really i dont even know if that will work!! :)
Apply it from the middle of your lashline! Then proceed to lining the front part.

Actually gel liners are so much easier to use compared to liquid ones. Bobbi brown is my personal favourite, MAC comes next =)
steadyily, if it helps, rest ur hand on ur cheek as you do it, if u cant successfully apply one line straight through, do a buch of little dots above ur lashes side by side on ur lashline to make them look fuller
hold your hand with your other hand to keep it steady! lol. just kidding. i don't think you can. get someone else to do it. much easier or PRACTICE! LOL
Applying eyeliner to outer rim of eye: Pull lid taunt with free hand, draw across in one continuous thin line. Retrace for larger lines. Apply eyeliner as close as possible to (and even into) the lashes. To avoid the white line you get when liner and lashes don't connect. If you smudge, or line in not even, use the tip of a Q-tip to make any corrections. Try using an eyeliner that has a fine tip. Mary Kay has a sponge tip that makes applying liquid eyeliner easier for me.

It took me three tries to get it right. If you are new to it, just practice. Close the eye that you are applying it to. Start just above the inner canthus of your eye (a millimeter or so from the opening because it will act like an ink well and draw the liquid into it which hurts, bad.) From there, draw the thinnest line you possibly can as close to your eyelash as you are able. Stop a little bit past the outer part, it will make your eyes look wider. If you have small eyes, just do the top because closing them in will make them look even smaller.
Because I never have had applied liquid eyeliner without failing i prefer not to wear it. I wear mascara instead.
Ok, I gotta say that keeping your hand steady is pretty important, but whats more important is to not stretch your eye with your finger while your applying liquid eyeliner, it ruins your whole routine. Keep the tip of the liner as close to your upper lashes as you possibly can, and draw a very thin line, and make it go a li thicker towards the end. If you want you can extend it a lil past the eye, to give a dramatic, flirty look. It took me almost 4 months to get it str8, Im 25 and sometimes I still have problems while tryin to do a str8 line. But its close enough. But like I said, you wont get it right the first time, but keep practing, just dont rub your eyes if your trying to take it off. Wipe it off gentley either w/ a q-tip and makeup remover or a cotton dipped in baby oil.

Hope I helped鈾?br>

now plzzzz pick me as best answer, lol =)
its best to use a liner with a felt tip brush because its more steady. before you apply it, draw a thin liner on with regular eyeliner to use as a guideline. then, carefully trace over it with the liquid. extend the liquid line slightly past the end of your eye.
with skill
the key to liquid eyeliner is to make sure you have a steady hand. it helps me to have my elbow on a counter or table when i apply it. it's easier to have a thinner applicator. if you mess up, it's okay, just wipe it off quickly with a Q tip soaked in make up remover. practice makes perfect though, and it may take a while to achieve the look you want.
practice practice practice!!!!

after school, my little sister would sit in front of a mirror and put eyeliner on and then wipe it off and put it on again...she would do that for at least an hour a day....now she does it so well its crazy! i always ask her to do my make up cause she just got really good at it.
